A volunteer writes: Maison is French and means ‘home’, and our four legged Maison is looking for hers. Found abandoned in an empty apartment, she’s so skinny we are feeding her an extra meal each day to help her gain weight. She’s affectionate, sweet and tail waggy. As we head out the door she shows me she’s likely house trained by taking care of her business right away and off we go to the park. As hungry as she obviously is she takes treats gently and keeps an eye on my treat bag hoping for more. Of course she got them! Gently and happily affectionate, she lays her head in my lap or snuggles into my shoulder and then rolls over for a belly rub. She’s such a sweetheart! Wagging her tail at dogs of all sizes in the park, in play group she’s social, engaging in play although may get overwhelmed by very high energy dogs. I fell in love with this sweet girl who holds no grudges for the human who left her, and is simply looking for a new place to call home. She needs to gain weight, have a mani/pedi and have a soft shoulder and lap in which to snuggle. She’ll make it easy to love her, I promise!
