I am a male black and brown chihuahua sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 4 YEARS old.

I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 04/25/2015 from NY 11208, owner surrender reason stated was LLORDPRIVA.

04/25/15 19:45 Basic information Macho is a 4 year old male chihuahua mix who has been with his family for 3 and one half years. Macho was surrendered because the client is not allowed to have a dog at his residence. Social life and personality Macho lived with 4 adults, 1 teenage girl and 1 small dog. Macho did not live with and has not been exposed to any cats. Owner reports Macho to be gentle with children and relaxed for interactions with other dogs. He is also described as being and energetic playful dog who is affectionate. Behavior Macho is not house trained and eliminates in the kitchen He does not guard his food or toys but may growl when he is chewing a bone. He also may struggle under restraint but does not mind a bath. For a new family to know Macho’s owners say he is a good listener and although he does not know commands can follow guidance. When at home he very much likes to be where the family is. There has always been family home so owner reports that he has never been left alone. Macho has been fed human food. Macho’s owners describe him as loving, playful and loyal. Upon intake Macho was slightly stiff but receptive to introduction. Although Macho appeared to have a guarded demeanor he allowed all handling incuding scan for microchip (positive) collar and photograph. Macho walked well on leash but also allowed himself to be picked up.

04/30/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Macho previously lived with adults, 1 teenager and 1 small dog. Owner reports Macho is gentle with children and relaxed for interactions with other dogs. He is also described as being energetic, playful, affectionate, and loyal. It was mentioned that Macho is not house trained and eliminates in the kitchen. The owner stated he does not guard his food or toys but may growl when he is chewing a bone, and he also may struggle under restraint but does not mind taking baths. At intake Macho was reported to be slightly stiff but receptive to introduction, and although Macho appeared to have a guarded demeanor he allowed all handling and walked well on leash. When entering the assessment room, Macho appeared to be a bit tense, but did approach the assessor when coaxed. He sniffed and licked the assessor hand, and allowed the assessor to place the leash on his collar, but when attempting to position Macho for the look item, He head flipped and bared his teeth. Due to this reaction and to avoid further escalation no other handling items were attempted at this time. During the resources portions of the assessment, Macho was not interested in any of the resource items given to him, and did not show any interest when the items were removed. Due to the behavior displayed during the assessment, Placement with a New Hope partner is recommend, as well as a very slow approach for introductions. Food: No interest Toy 1: No interest. Rawhide: 1. No interest. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Macho is tolerant when greeted but does not interact with other dogs and explores the yard.

When off leash with other dogs, Macho is tolerant when greeted but does not interact with other dogs and explores the yard. 4/30 Update Macho is a bit more comfortable in the yard with other dogs and will explore with a raised tail. He does not actively interact with other dogs
