05/25/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: When I read what Lyric’s owner has to say about her, I tell myself, “What a great gal she must be! What a wonderful companion she would make. Gentle with young children, sharing her food bowl with a Poodle, greeting strangers, well behaved with other dogs, house trained and well mannered across the board.” A real family dog the way we all like them to be, ready, almost, to step into our lives, to start a fresh chapter as a new forever best friend. So, why will you say, was Lyric surrendered to our facility? Well, it is obvious… costs. Not everyone can afford veterinary care and may be a special diet geared to prevent allergies because indeed, little Lyric does have a treatable dermatological problem. Lyric lays quiet in her kennel. She wears a cone around her neck to prevent her from scratching. She was given some medications to make her more comfortable and she is a bit sleepy. She walks slowly to the yard and eliminates at once. I clean her eyes blurred with pus and straighten up her cone. Lyric is a very compliant patient. She is quite a pretty girl, well nourished and dressed in a silky coat. She comes right away at the call of her name and sits by me for caresses, just like she has known me all her life. She is all sweetness… she salutes a little dog and is curious of 2 large dogs playing in a large pen. She welcomes a staff coming to say hello. She is really what I call A Good Girl!!! Lyric needs care, true. She is all worth it, though. She is petite, really cute, loving, very playful by history, loves kids and other dogs… she is a keeper. Come and meet this wonderful little lady at the Manhattan Care Center. Lyric would love to be your forever best friend.
