Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Helper dog: A1058389 Lucci previously lived with 1 adult and has been around children ages 0-5 years old. The owner stated Lucci plays gentle with adults and children; he also plays very well with other dogs. The owner mentioned Lucci is house trained, has a medium activity level and is well behaved when home alone. The owner describes Lucci as playful and affectionate. At intake it was reported Lucci was relaxed and calm, he allowed all handling. During SAFER Lucci came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, he was friendly, social and affectionate towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Lucci was unresponsive but not fearful during the tag interaction. Flank squeeze was applied due to Lucci limping on his Left front paw, and during the resources portion of the assessment Lucci was easy to handle when engaged with the items. Lucci appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels he can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, his tail is between his legs, body a bit tense, mouth closed. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (need coaxing to approach.) He is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor.
