03/26/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
03/26/15 19:23 Lord Royce was found in an abandoned home and brought here by police in a crate. His body was soft as he sniffed us through the crate, while we leashed, removed, and walked him, and when he approached and sniffed us. When we reached towards him to pet him, he retreated, so we couldn’t scan or collar him. He appeared comfortable when he was close to us. He sniffed the floor around my feet and didn’t pull on his leash. He looked towards me while I talked to him and took his pictures.
03/28/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Found in an abandoned building and brought in by the police, Lord Royce was calm during intake perhaps feeling that he would now be safe. He’s a bit too thin and still a bit unsettled as I meet him for the first time. Likely housetrained he takes care of business the moment we are out the door, and shows off decent leash manners as we walk to the park. He keeps his tail tucked but wags it gently when he comes to me for a treat. He didn’t like my first offering, but my back up treats were a success and he took them gently. Off leash he’s shy, but not unfriendly, needing some time to warm up and explore before taking the time with me. I went inside to get his kennel ready and when I came back he was waiting quietly, greeting me like his long lost friend. If you have another dog a meet and greet is recommended as Lord Royce may be selective in his choice of canine companions. He’s looking for a better life than the one he had, so ask to meet him today and show him what being a pampered pet is all about.
