06/12/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Helper Dog:A1039030 London came into the care center as a stray, so we do not have information on his past behaviors in a home. At intake it was noted that London had a fearful body language and was not receptive to introductions or handling by a counselor. During SAFER London had a fearful body posture and became stiff and growled when approached by the assessor. Due to this behavior and to avoid further stress for London no handling items were conducted at this time. During the resources portion of the assessment London was not interested in the resource items, and during the dog-dog interaction London approached the helper dog with a relaxed body posture and appeared interested in interacting, but was not playful. London has been showing fearful behavior and avoids interaction in the care center. We cannot be certain if behavior may be suppressed as a result of the shelter environment. Please note that behavior may change when London is more comfortable and settled in a home environment. Due to the behavior demonstrated in the shelter the behavior department recommends placement with a New Hope partner. Food: No interest Toy 1: No interest. Rawhide: 1. No interest. Dog-dog: 2. Dog approaches helper dog with tail at spine level, body not stiff, ears relaxed, lip neutral.
