A staff member writes: London is reported to be reactive to all dogs regardless of size or breed and cats. Owner reports London will growl, bark and lunge and becomes extremely aroused when encountering other animals on walks.
PROFILE FROM 7/3:
London is a 7 year old female spayed black and brown yorkshire terrier who is being surrendered because the family is moving. London has been with her family for 5 months.
London lived with 2 adults one child. London is reported to be receptive and playful to all family members. Owner states she will engage for play and allows all petting. London is reactive to both cat and dogs and will bark growl and pull on the leash when she becomes aware of their presence. London is walked twice a day but sometimes has accidents at home.
London enjoys a bath and is tolerant of nail trims and grooming in general. London will guard her food. London likes to be picked up and held.
London is indifferent to toys and does not play any games with the owners but knows the commands sit and lay down. When the family is home she likes to be where they are. Loud sharp noises startle her but she is tolerant of strangers and visitors to the home. London eats both wet and dry food.
Upon intake London was very receptive to introduction and was loose for all handling and petting. Counselor was able to scan for microchip (positive) collar and photograph. London walked well on leash was responsive to guidance.

Basic Information: Diamond is a 7 year old Maltese/ yorked They are being surrendered because of the owner’s current housing situation.
Social Life and personality: They have lived with children from infants and older. They are relaxed and playful with children and their play is exuberant. They are friendly and playful with each other. They have not been around cats to know how they would react to them. They have been kept mostly indoors. They have a high activity level and the owner has described them as playful, confident, excitable, affectionate, and friendly.
Behavior Issues: They have a tendency to bark a lot at guests and it can be difficult to make them stop. They have never bitten a person or another animal. They are not bothered is you touch or remove their food, bones, treats, or rawhides. They are friendly is you take away their toys. They are very jumpy and do not like to be held long. They are afraid and bark at strangers that come into their home.
For a New Family to Know: They do not know any commands. They are used to brisk walks on a leash. They like to play with socks, balls, and squeaky toys. They use the bathroom on training pads. They hide from loud noises such as fireworks or storms. They eat dry dog food; wet dog food makes them have very loose stool. They sleep in bed with their owner. Their favorite treats are bacon strips.
SAFER FROM 2/8: AVERAGE HOME
On 2/6/2015 Diamond Sky came to us as owner surrendered. According to the owner Diamond Sky lived with children, gets along with children and has no bite history. A staff member wrote” Troy was very nervous and was fearful”. The Assistant’s observations: relaxed and walked well to the assessment room. During the assessment Diamond Sky appeared friendly allowing the Assessor to conduct all tactile assessment items. Diamond Sky accepted handling very well. When pushed away by the “assess-a- hand” diamond sky did not lift her head from the food bowl. No other behavior issues; no aggression noted. Diamond Sky is a friendly dog that should be a good family pet. It is the recommendation of the Behavior Department diamond Sky may be adopted by an average owner.
Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands
Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture.
Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft
Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds
Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds
Food 3. Dog follows the dish, her tail between her legs, ears are forward. Her body is stiff. Dog does not lift her head from the bowl when hand is applied to her cheek.
