He was reported to be very sociable and attention seeking towards strangers, and was also reported to be relaxed and playful towards children. It was mentioned that Loki does not do well with other dogs and has recently had an incident with the dog he lived with. The owner stated Loki isn’t bothered when someone touches his food bowl while eating, and is tolerant when a toy or treat is taking away. Loki was best described as playful, confident, affectionate, independent, and friendly and was said to have a high activity level. The owner also noted that Loki is house trained but will have accidents when not taken out. At intake Loki was reported to be very sociable and easy to handle. Loki was also reported to walk calmly on his leash during his relief walk. During SAFER Loki was very sociable towards the assessor and was very attention seeking. During the resources portion of the assessment Loki only showed minimal interest in the food item, and was easy to handle when engaged with the toys and rawhide items. During the dog-dog interaction Loki approached the helper dog with his tail high, ears forward, and his body stiff. Due to the discomfort displayed when around other dogs, as well as the previous incident with the dog he previously lived with, the department feels Loki would be best suited for a home without other dogs, and an experienced adopter is recommended.
