A volunteer writes: I knew I would like Linn the moment I laid eyes on her.  I’ll be honest, it really didn’t matter what she did during our time together, there was something about her that I was certain I just wouldn’t be able to shake. Linn is a bit rough around the edges; she’s extremely underweight, has a few scabs and bumps, and her coat is somewhat lackluster. But, those eyes.  Those eyes will grab you and take hold.  She looks at me with the softest, most trusting glances, constantly checking in as we walk.  It seems she can’t take her eyes off of me, and the feeling is mutual. Fortunately, her soft demeanor doesn’t stop at her baby browns.  She is perfection on the leash, seems as though she has some housetraining and is friendly toward dogs as we pass them. She’s quiet and gentle, and subservient, sitting when I ask and taking her treats nicely. Though Linn had me from the get-go, she didn’t disappoint as I got to know her a bit more. I’m sure if you ask to meet her, she’ll have the same effect on you.

Behavior: Average
Linn came into the care center as a stray surrender, so her past behavior in a home is unknown, but she was reported to be friendly and very easy to handle. A volunteer writes “She is perfection on the leash, seems as though she has some housetraining and is friendly toward dogs as we pass them. She’s quiet and gentle, and subservient, sitting when I ask and taking her treats nicely.”
During SAFER Linn was very sociable towards the assessor, and had a loose body posture throughout the assessment. She allowed the assessor to conduct all handling items without issue, and was relaxed during the tag interaction. Linn was easily pushed out of the food bowl during the food item, and did not show any interest the toys or rawhide items.
Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her ears are back, her tail is down, and she has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands.
Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft or squinty, soft and loose body, and open mouth.
Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft.
Squeeze 1 & 2: 2. Dog quickly pulls back.
Food: 1. Dog calmly allows the food to be moved, follows the dish, but does not interfere with the dish’s movement. Dog’s body is soft and loose, eyes soft, tail neutral. She lifts her head when hand is pushed against her cheek.
Toy: 1. No interest.
Rawhide: 1. No interest.
Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Linn is tolerant, friendly and enjoys interacting with the other dog but is not interested in play.
