Basic Information:

Layla is an 8yr old female American/English Bulldog mix that has no past or current medical issues that the owner is aware.

Social Life & Personality:

Layla has been around children and interacts with them in a playful manner. She has also been around other dogs and cats (large & small) and plays with them in a gentle manner. Layla is an indoor only dog that is house trained. Layla is described to be friendly, playful, mellow and affectionate with a low activity level.

Behavior Issues:

Layla has never bitten a person or another animal according to the owner.Layla is friendly when touching her food bowl, toys, or rawhide. She also enjoys baths and all grooming agents. She does bark however when somebody unfamiliar approaches the yard or house. She is not bothered when disturbed while sleeping or when she is pulled/pushed off the furniture.

For a new Family to Know:

Layla knows sit, come, and stay. She enjoys brisk walks on the leash and loves playing fetch. She has never been crate trained and usually goes potty on the dement. When in the home,Layla is usually found in her favorite spot and when left alone, she is extremely well behaved. She does not like to stay outside so the previous owners did not keep her outside alone. When off the leash, Layla will stay close by your side. During fireworks/storms, Layla is nervous. She eats any brand of dry food and sleeps in her dog bed in the garage.

Behavior Upon intake:

Upon intake, Layla was very friendly and allowed all handling. Her body was loose and wiggly and was friendly to all staff members.

GROUP BEHAVIOR

When off leash with other dogs, Layla is a polite greeter. She did not appear to be interested in play and often stayed close to human handlers.

10/31 update : Layla continues to not be interested in interacting with other off leash dogs. She will offer corrections when approached / greeted by a social male.
