A volunteer writes:
Lady looks like a darker version of Lassie… She is very beautiful, elegant and with the most gorgeous eyes that seem full of life. Lady coat is quite thin on her back but it is not matted and rather clean. Clearly, Lady was a pet not that a long time ago. She is rather skittish and getting her leashed is not that easy. Eventually, the job gets done and off we go for a walk. Lady walks well on the leash, eliminates as we leave the care center. She does not seem to object the presence of other dogs in the yard or in the street. In the backyard, Lady comes as I call her and sits by my feet. She accepts the caresses although I sense some hesitation in giving herself up and coming on my lap. She does not like her lower back to be touched and even mouths my hand as a warning that I can also see in her eyes. Indeed, Lady is quite uncomfortable in her new settings and could have some back problems too. Lady is a middle age female, gorgeous and very classy. Whoever will welcome Lady in his or her home will have to be very gentle and patient to win her heart.Lady is at the Manhattan Care Center, hoping to lay soon on a bed of roses.
