A volunteer writes:
One look at that magnificent face and no one could doubt that Lady lives up to her name! She has such a noble presence and it doesn’t take much imagination to picture her strolling the halls of a grand mansion in the English countryside, crowds of eager admirers trailing in her wake. Regal yet approachable, elegant but sturdy, Lady is like a beautiful flower bent by the rainfall – she may be down right now but she’ll soon blossom when surrounded by the love and warmth of her new adoptive family. Easy to handle and keen to get outside, Lady walks briskly to the yard where she takes care of ‘business’ almost immediately – what a good girl! Roast beef is licked ever so softly from my hand, other dogs are met with laid-back, tail-wagging friendship and I’m even treated to a couple of hugs yet it’s clear that Lady is still a very worried little girl. Though she comes running when I call and really seems to enjoy my petting, much of her time is spent anxiously searching for a way back home. Peering over the fence, returning to the gate again and again as she whines to leave, I look at her sad eyes and hopeful smile and can almost hear the wordless pleading…What are you waiting for? It’s time to go find my family! I know they must be missing me because I sure do miss them, c’mon let’s leave now! Sadly, her former owners are gone for good but they did take the time to tell us Lady likes children (and lived with 5 of them!), that she’s quiet yet loves to play and about how much she enjoys being hugged and petted. We’re all hoping it won’t be long before our lovely girl is back where she belongs as the beautiful, happy heart of a true forever home. She’s already spayed and ready to leave immediately so make your move today – there’s a special little Lady waiting just for you!
