A staff member writes: Meet Lady! Lady may have a neurological disorder, and according to her previous owner she has trouble standing up straight and eats lying down. Despite this, Lady was very respectful of her former family members, and remains as cute as a button! This little Chi is looking for a new family to call her forever home!
A volunteer writes:
Lady was apparently a healthy and perky little gal just few years ago until she started having difficulties to walk and to eat. She prefers to lay, rest and is less playful because of her disability that seems to affect her eyes too. No veterinarian came up to date with a diagnosis and a treatment. The family could not afford further work up and brought their pet Lady to the Manhattan Care Center. Lady rests calmly in her kennel. Her big eyes travel in separate directions but finally focused on me. She lets me scoop her up and off to the yard we go, Lady tucked tightly against my chest. She gives me little wet kisses. She likes to be caressed. A pretty mouse she is …She takes a few steps in a pen. Her gait is unstable, her legs scramble to advance one inch.. She hears her name, she sees me. She gathers all her strength to come to me..What a brave little soldier…She tires up and sits then lays down. Better to take her on my lap. My heart melts holding this tiny gal. Her former owner and the child of the house said such lovely things about her…May be another medical opinion could shed a light on Lady’s condition…? She is adorable, sweet and so willing…That should count…Well, Little Lady is waiting at the Manhattan Care Center for her hero…Could it be …you ?
