I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 09/01/2015 from NY 11385, owner surrender reason stated was MOVE2PRIVA. I came in with Group/Litter #K15-030446.

09/01/15 17:02 BASIC INFORMATION Lady is a spayed tan and white Staffordshire that is 9 years old. Lady was a gift to the owner when she was just months old puppy. Lady has shown to be very loyal and is considered part of the family. However owner is surrendering this Lady and his other dog Rocky A1049951 due to personal family problems and he has lost his job. Lady has no known illness. SOCALIAZATION Lady since a puppy has been around toddler and children. Lady is gentle and playful around children. She allows being petted and follows them around. She displays the same behavior around adult in the house. When stranger come to visit she greet people by jumping and licking excitable. She leans in and seeks attention. Lady has never been around cats. But she has lived with another dog name Rocky A1049951 in harmony. They have been raised together. Around each other they are playful and lounge around the house together. BEHAVIOR Lady is tolerant of all handling. She enjoys getting baths and walk right into the tub. She allows having her food bowl touch while eating. She allows having his toys and rawhides removed without any problems. She enjoys having his coat brushed and allows to be restrained. She is house broken and will cry out until his taken outside to use the bathroom. Lady has been crate trained and is calmed when left alone. Lady is soft and relaxed with other dogs. FOR NEW FAMILIES TO KNOW Lady is described as tolerant, friendly and affectionate. She is soft and wiggly around stranger. She enjoys unlimited mix soft and dry pedigree. She is very gently around small children. She enjoys hours of play time with other dogs. She enjoys playing fetch and loves tennis balls for toys. Lady walks nicely on the leashed but she enjoys running in the park as his daily exercise. Lady would do great in a home with older children due to her playful personality. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE During intake Lady was loose and bouncy. She sat for treats and allowed to be petted. She also allowed being collard, photographed and scanned (negative). Lady walked in nicely to his cage. She was very friendly and excitable during intake.

Lady previous lived with 1 adult, 1 dog and has been around children. The owner stated Lady is gentle and playful around children; she allows being petted and follows them around same as the adults. The owner mentioned Lady is playful and lounge around the house with the other dog. It was reported by the owner Lady is house broken, crate trained and well-behaved when left alone. The owner describes Lady as tolerant, friendly and affectionate; she is also soft and wiggly around stranger. At intake Lady was friendly, loose and bouncy, she allowed all handling. During SAFER Lady came into the assessment room excitable, loose and wiggly, she was playful and social towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Lady was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Lady was easy to handle when engaged with the items. Lady appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels she can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Dog might jump on Assessor once play begins. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Food: 1. Minimal interest in food, dog licks, then turn away. Toy: 1. Dog settles down close to chew, will relinquish toy to you. Rawhide: 1. Dog settles down close to chew, will relinquish rawhide to you.

When off leash with other dogs Lady is anxious. She allows a brief greeting but will correct when play is solicited. 9/4 update: Lady greets the other dogs briefly before exploring her surroundings. 9/8 update: Lady may greet the other dog briefly but mostly keeps to herself. 9/9 update: Lady allows greeting but will sit in the yard and keep to herself.
