03/26/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Helper Dog:A1030719 Kinzy was brought in as a stray surrender so his past behavior in a home is unknown. At intake it was noted that Kinzy appeared to be friendly, but when the counselor attempted to place Kinzy in the kennel, he became fearful and only allowed minimal handling. He was also reported to be nervous during his medical exam, and was only tolerant of some handling. During SAFER Kinzy was fearful, and repeatedly attempted to get away from the assessor. He did approach the assessor after a great deal of coaxing, but when attempting to collar him, he became stiff and uncomfortable and dodged the collar not allowing the assessor to safely collar him. Due to this behavior and to avoid further stress for Kinzy the handling portion of the assessment was not completed and only resources and dog-dog were tested at this time. During the food and toy items Kinzy became stiff and snapped at the assess-a-hand when being pushed out of the food bowl and when removing the toy item. He was not interested in the rawhides, and during the dog-dog interaction Kinzy did not approach the helper dog, and attempted to exit. Food: 5. Dog snaps at assess-a-hand. Toy 1: 5. Dog snaps at assess-a-hand Rawhide: 1. No interest. Dog-dog: 2. Dog does not approach the helper dog, and attempts to exits.
