04/22/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
04/22/15 20:29 BASIC INFO Kado is a ~9 month old APBT/Am Staff mix. His owner got him from his previous owner. He surrendered him due to cost. Kado has a testicle that hasn’t descended fully. He has entroption eye lids and an ear infection, both of which he’s been receiving drops for. SOCIALIZATION Kado is friendly and outgoing with strangers and hasn’t bit a person/animal. He plays somewhat rough with people, jumping up to give hugs. He lived with a female APBT and was relaxed, playful, and tolerant with her. He played somewhat rough and allowed her to take toys from him and play bite him. BEHAVIOR Kado chewed a broom handle. He’s friendly with strangers that approach his home/family. He enjoys being bathed/brushed. He doesn’t mind when someone takes his food/treat/toy, moves him off furniture, holds/restrains him, or wakes him up. He doesn’t mind storms. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Kado’s family describes him as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, excitable, obedient, and high activity. He follows his family around. He likes to play with his kong. He lived indoors and slept in the living room. He ate Blue Buffalo Wilderness food and enjoyed dog treats. He’s mostly housetrained. He had accidents (#1) during the first 2 days and the last day in this home. He did well when crated while his owner cleaned. He went for brisk walks and pulled lightly on his leash with his owner. He pottied on trees. INTAKE Kado had loose wiggly body, wagging tail, and open mouth during handling-scan (negative), collar, switching leashes, petting, pictures. He jumped up and hugged and licked us. He backed away from his kennel but was very tolerant of us picking him up and placing him in a kennel.

A volunteer writes: Kado sits so proper in his cage while I unlock it, such a well behaved boy. His beautiful blue gray coat is so healthy looking. You feel like he’s known you his whole life because he is just the friendliest guy. And saying hi to everyone on the street with a happy wagging tail. I get some amazing kisses on his way back into his cage. What an awesome guy!
A volunteer writes: Kado’s unusual name means ‘gift’ in Indonesian and I can’t think of a better present to receive than the love of this gentle, affectionate and playful dude. He’s so easy-going that within minutes of meeting each other we’re both in chill-out heaven, happily smooshed together on the bench as Kado slowly chews a tennis ball and I massage his super soft belly. He’s a good boy who always comes when called, sits on command to catch his treats mid-air or waits patiently for a throw of the ball and I can pet him any which way I please with nothing but happy tail wags in return. Fetching is a favorite activity but when I introduce a squeaky ball Kado is puzzled – where’s that sound coming from? He drops and nudges it, picks it up for another experimental squeeze and then repeats the process again before deciding that this is the best thing ever and returning to the bench for a good ol’ chew session. Kado’s former owner brought him to the Care Center when he could no longer afford to care for him and told us that Kado is friendly, outgoing and so tolerant of his Pittie sister that he’d calmly let her take away his toys and even play-bite him. He loves meeting new friends, enjoys playing with his Kong and takes everything life throws his way in stride, including being groomed and having a bath! A good leash walker who uses the facilities promptly, Kado likes to sniff every nook and cranny of our route and unlike most puppies he’s very calm and attentive to my voice and the perfect companion for a quiet afternoon stroll. So majestically beautiful that no photo can do him justice and so good-natured that he’d fit into any dog-savvy home with ease, Kado is a real catch and his former owner’s loss could be your lucky gain. A wise man once said ‘a friend is a gift you give yourself’ so why not spoil your family today by taking home the best gift of all – a lifetime of sweet, sweet Kado!
