08/04/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: I love that triangular face, gentle, naive, tilted to perfection, her hopeful eyes and her sweet smile..Joonmarie is a pretty damsel, a tigerlilly, dressed in a beautiful striped orangy coat that would put to shame a Tiger of Bengal. She is putting a real show in her den to get my attention and does not get discouraged when I take out one of her kennel’s mates instead of her. She is persistent. Her turn will come and she is so right. What a wiggelbutt..What a happy tail! Here I am, Joonmarie. She is leashed in no time and play bows to me before to start for the street. She walks very nicely and does her business as soon as we are out. It is quite hot outside and quiet time in a pen is more to our like. Joonmarie shows me that she can sit on command, come when called and hop on the bench for bonding time. She seems to love other dogs (as well as other humans) met through the gate and is doing quite well in playgroups with other pooches. Joonmarie is a beautiful girl, healthy, well nourished, happy go lucky, very sociable, friendly and affectionate. She is ready to be your faithful buddy, accomplice, confident and playmate, the forever best friend you truly had in mind when you decided that the time had come to get a pet. Joonmarie is waiting for you at the Manhattan Care center.
08/02/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
JoonMarie came into our center after a member of the public found her as a stray. She walks very well on leash, no pulling at all. JoonMarie was friendly and social to handlers during SAFER assessment. She was easy to position and held gaze for three full seconds during Look item, tail wagging. JoonMarie stood still and accepted the touch during Sensitivity item, tail wagging, body soft. She followed at the end of the leash for Tag game, tail wagging, body soft. JoonMarie whined at the end of Tag game but settled down once positioned for Squeeze. She did not pull her paw back on both Squeeze attempts. JoonMarie lifted her head out of the Food bowl easily once assess-a-hand was applied to her cheek. She had no interest in Toy and minimal interest in Rawhide. When off leash with other dogs, Joonmarie greets politely and appears to be interested in interacting, but does not engage in play. The Behavior Team feels JoonMarie would do best in an Average home.
