A volunteer writes: Puppy Jewel is a gem (sorry, couldn’t resist). So handsome, so playful, so loving, so happy to be with people, so happy to be with other dogs, he is everything a puppy should be. His coat is as soft as the finest velvet, his leash manners are good, he went potty as soon as we were out the door so may be housetrained (as a puppy he may need some ongoing positive training), and he sits before being asked as soon as he sees a treat. As I said – he’s a gem! He’s snuggly, likes to play but doesn’t know how to play fetch although he bounces after a tossed ball. His feet look like he may have been crated too long but as he’s young, he’ll stretch and be fine. Jewel needs to learn how to be a playful, carefree puppy, running after a ball, playing with toys and just having some fun. In group play he’s social and playful with both males and females, and when a group of ‘smalls’ had their group in the pen next to ours he wagged his tail gently in greeting to them. Puppy Jewel is looking for a person or family to grow old with….to help usher him into the rockstar adult we know he’ll become and to live his life happily ever after. If you’re a puppy person (and not everyone is), and can make the commitment to positive reinforcement training and the lifetime of love, Jewel would love to meet you.
