Helper Dog:A1024540 Jazz previously lived with children from infants and older, and was reported to be very tolerant of children and gentle during play. Jazz has been around other dogs and the owner stated he is exuberant during play with them, and was said to have a medium activity level. The owner best describes Jazz as playful, excitable, affectionate, mellow, independent and friendly. At intake Jazz was reported to be very friendly upon entry to the admissions office, but he began to stress pant during the intake and it became heavier when his owner left. During SAFER Jazz was not very attention seeking, and appeared to be more interested in his surroundings. He did become a bit tense for some handling but he allowed the assessor to conduct all handling items without issue. He was relaxed for the tag interaction, and was a bit resistant when being pushed out of the food bowl, but with a bit of pressure, he lifted his head from the food bowl and allowed the assessor to remove the food without issue. He was not interested in the toys or rawhide items, and when approaching the helper dog during the dog-dog interaction, Jazz had a relaxed body posture and appeared interested, but was not playful. Jazz is a bit timid at first but he is tolerant of all handling and did not show any behavior concerns so, the department feels Jazz can be suitable for an “Average” experienced adopter. Look: 2.
