WEB MEMO

A volunteer writes:
If you take Jaden out of her kennel, you will discover  that she is more than the shapeless form splattered fearfully on her blanket. Where is the head? Where is the tail? I take a guess and leash the end closer to me… Bingo ! I pull a little and here comes ..beautiful Jaden. She looks a little like my own Mimi, also a Daschhund mix, just a little plumper. She could use some grooming although she is not matted. Her eyes are the cutest…Jaden walks nicely by my side, even does some business on the way. I can not say that she is housetrained, though. In a pen, she is not fond of being tethered for the pictures but eventually calms down and let’s me pet her. She accepts a treat and comes back for more. Jaden is quite scared in the care center  and needs some time  to get used to a caretaker ,  trust and be the lovely girl she mostly is. Jaden really needs a home and a family ASAP. Will you be her hero ? Jaden is at the Manhattan Care Center.

06/29/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Jaden came into our center as a stray so behaviors in the home are unknown. He approached admissions counselors with low wagging tail but then let out a low growl followed by loud barking. Jaden held gaze during Look item for three full seconds, body neutral. She stood still and accepted the touch during Sensitivity item, tail down, ears neutral, body soft. Jaden followed at the end of the leash for Tag game, soft body. She tried to bite during first paw Squeeze attempt. Jaden had no interest in Food or Toy, with minimal interest in Rawhide. She approached the helper dog a bit hesitantly, but with soft body and tail at spine level. Due to Jaden’s attempt to bite, she must be placed with a New Hope partner. Look: 1.
