07/29/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
07/29/15 16:21hrs Jada is a female Pit-bull terrier. She has lived with her owner for the past week but is being surrendered due to landlord issues. Jada’s owner described her as a very playful, affectionate and energetic dog. She enjoys being petted and jumping on people to play. She lived with children aged 3 to 15 years old and played exuberantly with them. Jada would throw her body against the person she is playing with. Jada was the only pet in the household. When she was walked and noticed other dogs, she would pull towards them in attempt to sniff them and play. Jada allowed all petting. She would bark when someone knocked at her owner’s door. Her owner stated that she greeted visitors in a playful manner. She is house trained and used to being walked at least twice a day. Jada is a playful dog. She is accustomed to playing with dog balls and tugging on ropes. She knows the commands, sit and down. She was used to sleeping inside of a crate at night. She behaved well when left alone. She was fed dry Beneful dog food. During intake Jada was panting yet approaching the Admissions Counselor with a soft body and tail wagging. She allowed all handling. She was collared, scanned for a microchip (negative) and photographed without incident.
08/01/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: I must have passed Jada’s kennel a dozen times, and each time I promised her I would be back for her and each time she was right up front, looking at me expectantly, smiling and wagging her tail. Hours later I made good my promise, and she wagged and smiled as I leashed her and made a beeline for the door. Leaving a clean kennel behind her she went potty as soon as we hit the street, making me feel so guilty that I made her wait so long. Jada pulls hard on the leash and will benefit from a harness and/or leash training, so it was a short walk before we head into the yard for off leash time. She’s an adorable little girl, compact in her tan coat with sparkling eyes that show intelligence and love. I love her feet which are white with tan polka dots, as if her ensemble was created by a top designer bringing together all her colors. Jada is a potential “social greeter” in play groups, as she greets other dogs politely and becomes bouncy and playful after her greeting. While she wasn’t interested in playing with a toy, she gives it a quick chase, and then comes happily in my lap for some cuddle time. Energetic and affectionate, Jada is looking for a home in which some exercise and lots of love are on the daily ‘to do’ list. Petite and small enough to fit into just about any living situation, Jada is hoping you’ll come by to meet her today.
