A volunteer writes: Ice won my award for ‘jowls I’d most like to schmush’. He’s a stunning boy surrendered by the only family he’s ever known as his person is ill and can no longer take care of him.
Ice comes with glowing comments; we’re told that he’s housetrained, calm and respectful to people and other animals, loves attention and to be pet, knows ‘come’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘sit’ (sit being both verbal or a hand motion to the shoulder), likes to go for jogs, likes baths but needs to be put into the tub and sleeps on his own blanket. I loved my time with this affectionate, gorgeous boy. He confirmed his housetraining abilities by ‘going’ the moment we were outside, and although he pulls on the leash a bit he’s easily managed. His coat is as soft as the finest velvet, his weight is perfect for his size, and it’s clear that he’s been much loved. He ignores other dogs we pass on our walk, and in group he’s not terribly interested in interacting, and when a rowdy dog keeps trying to get his attention he simply moves away. Good boy! He takes treats gently, and then jumps up on the bench for some loving. Rolling his head into my chest, then my lap, Ice is a major lover boy and that’s my favorite thing! Sooooooooo affectionate and sweet, he’s calm, gentle and loved being pet all over. He’s a big boy who thinks he’s a Yorkie and will fit comfortably in my lap, but settles for laying down on the bench next to me with just his head on my lap. Ice has a nice energy, soft and easy. He rocked his behavior assessment indicating he’ll be a good
fit in just about any home and is looking for an active home in which he’ll get the right combination of exercise and cuddles.
