07/23/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Hoover came in as a stray, so his past behaviors in a home are unknown. At intake Hoover was relaxed allowed to be picked up, rub and allowed all handling. During SAFER Hoover came into the assessment room calm and relaxed, he was friendly and social towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Hoover was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment on food item he allowed the assessor to remove his head out of the food bowl with no issue, toy and rawhide item he takes away with stiff body language. Due to some behavior concerns the behavior department feels Hoover can be suitable for an experience adopter with no children. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. 07/23/2015 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Off leash Hoover is nervous and seems fearful of the other dogs. He did overreact and overcorrect to one of the dogs who was too close to his face. He enjoys handler interaction. He might be more comfortable with less dogs or dogs that were less interacting. 7/24 update: Hoover seems less nervous today and seems to do better in a smaller group. Greets appropriately and seems to have relaxed, loose body posture. Continues to enjoy handler interaction.
