A volunteer writes (as told by Hooper): Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, my name is Hooper and I’m a fun little girl. Some of my favorite things are: kissing, playing fetch (and I really do play and I’ll let you take it right out of my mouth for another throw), other dogs, treats (I sit for them perfectly), having my picture taken (I’m a great model), and bouncing around off leash with my new friend, Volunteer. There are lots of people called Volunteer here, and they all smile at me and pet me – I like that. I do like to watch my figure, but right now I’m a bit too thin so probably need to gain a few pounds to be really perfect. I learn things quickly, and love to please my person, so some positive reward based training is right up my ally. Watch how fast I learn things! Every time my new friend, Volunteer, sat down or stood still in the pen I went to sit by her feet hoping her hand my start petting me. I like to be close to and take care of my person. Volunteer told me that good pictures will help me get adopted so I made sure to pose really nicely…whadayathink? An active home with someone who will play with me, provide structure, good food and a warm bed to sleep in sounds pretty perfect. Please come meet me and take me home.

If you are local to the Tri-State, New England, and the general Northeast United States area, and you are SERIOUS about adopting or fostering one of the animals at NYC ACC, please read our MUST READ section for instructions, or email [email protected]
Our experienced volunteers will do their best to guide you through the process.
*We highly discourage everyone from trusting strangers that send them Facebook messages, offering help, for it has ended in truly tragic events.*
