A volunteer writes:

Honey who is a boy pondered if he should or not come out of his kennel…I understood why after I leashed him.Honey is a bit slow moving. His hinds are weak making getting up, getting started and walk somewhat difficult. The temptation to leave the kennel is great and Honey makes his way to the yard. Stairs…I do not do stairs..Ok, we going to the street. This is more to Honey’s liking. Sluggishly, we are reaching the street. Honey does his business and we take a rest. A staff comes to say hello. He accepts a hug and even sticks his little tongue out in submission. Honey is just adorable. Probably conscious somehow of his disability and vulnerability, instinctively, he chosed to be compliant, go with the flow, even to accept a medical examination without complaining…I returned Honey to a comfi bed, helping him to climb into his den. I sat near him for a while and we talked. He has such good eyes…When I came back to say good by, right before to call it a night, Honey got up and came to his door without coaxing…. He still has it in him to be the man(woman ) best friend…Honey is at the Manhattan Care Center. His heart is beating for a new life with you….
