12/01/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
12/01/2015 11:14 Intake behavior: Holly allowed staff to collar, scan for a microchip and take pictures. Holly was vey calm during her intake and likes to walk with staff as they walked. Holly would respond to staff with a wagging tail and showed no signs of aggression.

12/04/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteert writes: A littler mouse with kissing ears, a lovely grey dress, a tiny girl, a pocket Pittie who looks like a puppy. She is too well mannered to be a babe, though and when I looked at her kennel card, I saw that she was five year old. Holly is a good little gal, polite, waiting calmly in her kennel. No problem to leash her. She is such a great walker and relieves herself as soon as she is out the door. Holly is so cute to watch running around, free in a pen. She loves treats for which she sits on and off and takes quite properly from my hand. Her lovely ears spread sideways when she chomps on food. She is really adorable and petite, well made, so serious looking although she can run after a ball, play tag and come on the lap for kisses. Holly seems to like other dogs and I was told that she truly enjoyed mingling with her peers in playgroups. Have I said enough to make you want to meet Holly? Come quick… She is at the Manhattan Care Center, already dreaming to be yours.

12/03/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Holly pulls a bit on the leash. She was excited but very interested in interacting with handler during assessment – jumped up, mouthy (moderate). Holly was excited during some of the handling items, but had soft body language. She was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. Holly took the toy away but had soft body language. Holly appears to be a high-energy dog that will likely do best with an adopter prepared to provide mental and physical stimulation and appropriate outlets for his energy. She is quick to use her mouth in play and has poor body awareness, resulting in her mouthing handlers with light pressure. The behavior department feels that she may do best with an experienced adopter who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification. We also recommend a home without young children; older children can be considered pending interaction. Look: 3. Dog jumps on the Assessor, consistently rubs his shoulder on the Assessor, and will not allow Assessor to conduct the assessment. Sensitivity: 2. Dog displays high energy and movement, but it is directed toward getting closer to the Assessor. Her body is soft, likely panting, may jump up between attempts to lick Assessor. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (may need coaxing to approach.) She is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Lick hand. Squeeze2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Toy: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. She does not place his body between you and the toy. Playgroup Notes: Holly solicits but seems unsure of how to engage in play. She approaches the helper dog with loose body, wagging tail and offering bows but does not play or interact any further.

12/01/2015 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Holly has displayed interest in greeting and has made brief attempts to solicit play during off leash interaction. She arrived into our care as a stray so her behaviors in a home with dogs are unknown. Based on observation made while in our care, the behavior department recommends that Holly may be placed into a home with another social dog. A pre-adoption interaction is highly encouraged to ensure compatability with another resident dog. When off leash with other dogs, Holly greets, shows some interest, mostly wanders her surroundings. 12/2 update: Holly solicits but seems unsure of how to engage in play. She approaches the helper dog with loose body, wagging tail and offering bows but does not play or interact any further. 12/3 update: Holly solicits play but is pushy and will continue to solicit once the other dog offers clear signs of being uncomortable–moving away and stiffening. She is tolerant of a sexually motivated male. 12/5 update: Holly greets with a loose body and will whine until she enters the pen. She is interested when solicited but does not engage in play. Holly offers correction when mounted. 12/6: Holly continues to whine until introduced into the pen with the other dog. Holly shows brief interest in play but does not fully engage. Holly continues to offer correction for mounting. 12/8 update: Holly greets well but is distracted by dogs and people outside of the pens.
