PROFILE:
BASIC INFO
Hazel Berri was bred at home. Her owner gave her to someone when she was younger, but that person didn’t have time for her and gave her back 2 weeks ago. Hazel’s original/current owner doesn’t have time for her either.
SOCIALIZATION
Hazel Berri is friendly/outgoing with strangers. She lived with children and her brother. She’s relaxed, playful, and tolerant, and plays exuberantly with children, adults, her brother, and dogs she meets outside. She’s never bit anyone.
BEHAVIOR
Hazel Berri doesn’t mind storms. She’s friendly with strangers who approach her home/family. She doesn’t mind when someone takes her food/treat/toy, moves her off furniture, holds/restrains her, wakes her up, bathes her, or brushes her.
FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW
Hazel’s family describes her as friendly, affectionate, playful, excitable, and high energy. She follows her family around and plays chase, and fetch. She likes wearing sweaters and playing with balls. She lived inside, slept with her owner, ate dry and wet Iams puppy food, and enjoyed dog treats. She’s housetrained, potties on both cement outside and newspaper inside, and doesn’t have accidents. She’s well-behaved while home alone and knows how to sit when asked. She goes for slow and brisk walks and doesn’t pull on her leash. The person her owner had given her to kept her tethered inside a crate 24/7 in her own waste. Her owner never crated her and she did not have any behavior issues in the home.
INTAKE
Hazel had very soft body and eyes during all of her intake and handling. Her owner carried her inside and set her down. She lied on the floor next to him. We scanned (-) her, collared her, switched her leashes, positioned her for pictures, and took her sweater off. She maintained a soft body and constantly sat/lied in our laps or leaning up against us. She sometimes licked us. Her tail wagged while we talked to and scratched her. She stretched out while we scratched her back. She allowed us to pick her up, carry her, and put her into a kennel.
