10/23/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Hampton walks calmly on leash. He was sociable toward the handler soft body, wagging tail. Hampton was uncomfortable with handling; he stands tall, and tries to look large. He growls during the sensitivity and exposes his front teeth and lunge at the assessor hand during the squeeze item. The behavior team decided to skip the handling part of the assessment for safety reasons. During the resources Hampton was not interested in food, toys or rawhide. The behavior department feels that he would do best if placed with a New Hope partner who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification before placement into a permanent home. Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 5. Dog growls. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (may need coaxing to approach.) He is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 5. Dog tries to bite. When off leash with other dogs, Hampton mostly explores the pen and seeks out handler attention.
10/22/2015 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
