I am a spayed female brown and white boxer and pit bull mix. The shelter thinks I am about 1 YEAR 9 MONTHS old.
I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 11/07/2015 from NY 11218, owner surrender reason stated was ATT ANIMAL.

11/07/15 12:58 Basic Information: Hailei is a 2 year old altered Boxer Pitbull mix. Owner stated she had Hailei since she was 7 weeks. Hailei is up to date on her vaccinates owner stated. Owner surrenders Hailei due to her attacking other dogs in the home. Social Life and Personality: Hailei lived with one female adult but been around other people and children. Owner stated Hailei is playful, relaxed and respectful towards everyone she meets. Hailei lived with three other dogs two being Border Collies and owner stated Hailei is aggressive towards them. She attacked the dogs on multiple occasions within the past 10 months. Owner stated Hailei will tense and goes in attacks. Owner suggested Hailei doesn’t go in a home with no other animals. She is mostly kept indoors and activity is high. Owner describes Hailie as excitable, affectionate, and friendly. Behavior: Hailei is aggressive towards other dogs owner stated and has attacked another dog within the past 10 days breaking skin ( further information in behavior memo). Owner stated Hailei is not aggressive towards people but bite redirected on the owner during the dog fight. Owner stated she hardly tries to touch her food bowl while eating but doesn’t bothered owner when she goes by it. She’s friendly while taking baths and being brushed. She only barks when she hears other dog’s owner stated. For a New Family to Know: Hailei is trained to use the bathroom outside in the yard but will have accidents if home alone for 10 hours a day. She only knows the command give paw. She likes to play with balls and plastic bottles. Hailei goes in and out of a crate in the home that’s in the middle of the hallway. SHe likes to follow owner around the house or in her favorite spot. Hailei eats wet and dry food called Iamns twice a day. Intake Behavior: Upon intake Hailei was docile and quiet. She scanned negative for a microchip and allowed all handling.

11/17/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE

Helper dog: A1057469 Hailei previously lived with one female adult, 3 dogs and has been around children. The owner stated Hailei is playful, relaxed and respectful towards everyone she meets. The owner stated Hailei can be reactive towards the other dogs in the household; she attacked them on multiple occasions within the past 10 months. It was reported by the owner Heilei attacked another dog within the past 10 days and broke skin. The owner mentioned Hailei is house trained and has a high activity level. The owner describes Hailei as excitable, affectionate and friendly. At intake it was reported Hailei was docile and quiet, she allowed all handling. During SAFER Hailei came into the assessment room quiet and nervous, she was social towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Hailei was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Hailei was easy to handle when engaged with the items. Due to some concersn stated from the previous owner Hailei can be reactive towards other dogs and also her previous incident with another dog, the behavior department feels she can be suitable for an experience adopter with no other dogs in the household. Look: 2. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her body posture is tense and fearful; her tail is low and not moving. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, her tail is between her legs, body a bit tense, mouth closed. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Her eyes are averted and her ears are relaxed. Toy: 1. Minimal interest in toy, dog smells, then turns away. Dog-dog: 2. Dog approaches helper dog with tail at spine level, body not stiff, ears relaxed, and lip neutral.

When off leash with other dogs, Hailei is muzzled due to her history. She is uncomfortable with the muzzle but allows the other dog to sniff her. She eventually shows a bit of interest and sniffs the other dog briefly.

Medical rating was 1 – NORMAL , behavior rating was NONE
Scan negative Female Spayed (spay scar observed) QA, nervous – tail tucked under BCS: 3/5 EEN: clear Skin/coat: WNL Nervous during exam, relaxed a little at end and wagged tail.
