A volunteer writes (as told by Gunner): You can finally adopt me!! I’m available to come home with you! Yay! I’ve been waiting, as I know you have so let’s make this happen! I’m handsome and friendly, staff loves me and have been taking good care of me, as have volunteers who sing my praises. I made a new friend yesterday and her name is Volunteer (so many people have the same name here…..). I was sound asleep when she came for me, but I woke up when she unlatched my door and I was thrilled to go out as I needed to go potty. After I took care of my business we had a nice walk to the park; I like to sniff my surroundings because that’s how I learn, and it was hot, so we were slow and easy. We came back and went into the backyard and I was pooped – it was hot! We ran into one of my staff friends – a big burly guy who was telling my friend Volunteer how amazing I am. (Aw shucks….). I greeted some dogs in an adjoining pen, and then hopped up on the bench to give my new friend some kisses and lay down beside her. She loved on me, gave me a belly rub, rubbed my ears (love that), and just had some quiet time together. She wanted me to play with a toy, and while it was a nice thing to do I just put it between my paws, lay down froggy style and smiled up at her to make her feel good. She laughed and that made me happy. I’m a handsome fellow in my tan coat, I’ve maintained my stellar physique, and here I am waiting for you. So, come meet me today, let’s snuggle and I know you’ll love me. Staff and volunteers can’t be wrong!
