10/01/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Helper dog: A1051223 Gree came in as a stray, so her past behaviors in home are unknown. During SAFER Gree came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, she was friendly and playful towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Gree was unresponsive during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Gree was easy to handle when engaged with the items. Gree appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels she can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (need coaxing to approach.) She is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Her eyes are averted and her ears are relaxed and licks hand. Food: 2. Dog follows the dish with her tail down, body likely a bit stiff. Dog lifts head after a bit of pressure from hand to cheek. Toy: 1. Dog settles down close to chew, will relinquish toy to you. Rawhide: 2. Dog takes rawhide away, keeps a firm hold. Her body is between you and the rawhide, and she is loose and wiggly. No growling or stiffness. Dog-dog: 2. Dog approaches helper dog with tail at spine level, body not stiff, ears relaxed, and lip neutral.
