05/03/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
05/03/15 09:45hrs Grandie is an approximately 3 year old APBT. Police officers found her in the divider on the grand concourse. She was calm and sitting when they arrived. she allowed police officers to leash and put her in the car. During the intake, Grandie had a loose body, wagging tail, and open mouth. Her ears were erect and she was very curious of her surroundings. She allowed scanning, pictures, petting, and leashing.
04/29/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Rubenesque and gorgeous, Grandie has clearly been a much loved little girl before joining us. Her coat is a beautiful tan color, soft to the touch, clean and groomed. She’s been fed with love and is just slightly pleasantly plump, and her sparkling eyes and wagging tag all indicate a well socialized and loving dog. She shows off her housetraining skills as soon as we’re out the door and we’re off to the park, where we stop to take some pictures. Grandie doesn’t mind being tethered, and watches me softly as I shoot. She pulls slightly on the leash but is responsive and in tune with her person and it’s no biggie. Off leash in a pen she explores, comes when I make kissy sounds at her, and isn’t interested in my treats or playing ball. Lovely, soft and gentle, it’s no surprise that Grandie aced her behavior assessment, indicating she’ll be a good fit in just about any home. Who’s going to be the lucky person to make her a part of their family?
04/27/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Grandie was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body, low wag. She allowed for all tactical handling items to be completed and remained friendly throughout, but at times she was easily distracted by other stimuli in the room. She was calm when playing tag with assessor and followed at the end of the leash with a soft body. Grandie did not resist being handled while eating, and was easily pushed out of the food bowl. She playfully engaged with the toy and allowed it to be relinquished to the Assessor. Grandie kept a firm grip on the rawhide with a neutral body. Grandie was brought to the care center as a stray. Upon intake she was loose and wiggly with a wagging tail and sniffed around, very curious of her surroundings. Grandie did not show any concerns during her assessment. The Behavior Department believes Grandie can go to an average home. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears forward. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog is active and focused on the Assessor and all other stimuli available. Her body is soft, likely panting, likely to display high movement between attempts. Tag: 1. Dog calmly allows the food to be moved, follows the dish, but does not interfere with the dish’s movement. Dog’s body is soft and loose, eyes soft, tail neutral. She lifts her head when hand is pushed against his cheek. Toy: 1. Dog playfully engages with and chews on toy, will relinquish toy to you. Rawhide: 1.
