03/15/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
03/15/15 12:38 Gracie came in as an owner surrender because owner did not have the resources to care for her. Owner reported limited information because Gracie had only been with him for three to four months. He did note that Gracie was very receptive to the adults in his home and played very well with another dog who came into his home at the same time. Upon intake Gracie was extremely energetic and had an exuberant introduction. Gracie was loose and good for all handling but easily distracted. She was very treat motivated and knows the command sit. Counselor was able to scan for a microchip (negative) and collar. Gracie was very insistent on leash pulling hard and easily distracted.
03/23/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: With a name like Gracie, you’d expect a dainty, gentle, and well graceful, little girl. As I approached her kennel, she looked so sweet and innocent waiting for me to open the door, even puppylike. But delicate, Gracie is not. Gracie is nothing but a Tomboy. As soon as she was out of the door, she was off like a cannon. Pulling me through the care center until we were outside. Likely housetrained, she was very focused on doing her business first. But after that, it was all PLAY, PLAY, PLAY. When thrown a ball, Gracie has more air than Jordan and an insane amount of speed. In watching her fetch a ball, she is so meticulous. It’s like she studies it, then measures the exact location in which it will fall once it’s been thrown, so that she catches it at just the right moment, making it all look so effortless. And the process continues until you get tired of throwing the ball for her! Gracie will likely do well with further agility training and learning more tricks, as she is very treat and food motivated. Gracie is in search of a family that has as much energy as she does, come to the Brooklyn Care Center and ask to meet her today!
