08/03/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
08/03/15 18:04 Goliath A1046541 is a 1yr old male white & tan American Bulldog Mix who is being surrendered due to his owner going through personal problems and a family member could no longer keep him themselves. Goliath has been around a 10yr old child briefly but didn’t interact much due to the child’s asthma & allergies towards animals. Goliath will sleep on the floor and eats dry & wet Pedigree food. He’s high energy and can jump very high for toys and or treats. He’s house broken and will cry/whine at the door to let you know he’s ready to “go” outside. As far as the temporary owner knows Goliath hasn’t been around other dogs but lived with a cat that had attacked him once when he was a young pup and since then Goliath will steer clear of cats. During intake Goliath allowed minimal handling. He appeared nervous with the admissions counselor and only allowed our handling with the temporary owner present. He allowed us to scan (-), collar and take his pictures which he sat nicely for.
08/05/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Even his intake picture shows him smiling!! Goliath is one fun, friendly and playful dog — always ready with a smile and a wagging tail, his eyes sparkle with good cheer. Joining us when his person ran into some difficulties, Goliath has already joined the ranks of staff and volunteer favorites with his enthusiasm, great look and fun manners. Showing off his housetraining skills the moment we were out the door, we’re told by his former owner that he is indeed housetrained and will cry at the door to let you know he needs to go out. Good boy, Goliath! Happily greeting other dogs in pens on either side of us, Goliath bounces from one side to another, stopping only to chase a toy, or sit for a treat, taking it gently. He poses for pictures like a pro, giving me first a serious face (love that soft bulldog look), and then a huge ear to ear grin. We’re told that he was attacked by a cat when he was a puppy so he avoids cats at all times. Energetic, friendly, beautifully groomed and guaranteed to keep you smiling, Goliath is looking for an active home in which plenty of exercise, playtime and love is there every day. Just imagine waking up to this smiling face and wagging tail every day… lucky you!
08/06/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Goliath pulls hard on the leash. He was excited but very interested in interacting with handler during assessment – jumped up. He was overexcited during handling, jumping up, and was hard to position, but showed no aggression. Goliath was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. Magic did not resist being handled while eating, and was easily pushed out of the food bowl. Goliath took the toy and the rawhide with a soft body language.
