MEDICAL: scan positive: 981010001102198, neutered male, weight: 13lbs,cataract to right eye – left eyes extremely dry – possibly blind,clean ears,missing hair throughout his body,nails down to kwick,underweight, moderate dental tartar along with gingvitis – possible dental disease, overall body condition is good, sweet boy – easy to handle. BARH. NOSF
PROFILE:
Giovanni is a 13 yrs. old white and tan Shih Tzu who was surrendered at ACC today. Giovanni has developed cataracts in both eyes is neutered and will undergo a full physical health exam.
Giovanni has been socialized with children cats and other dogs. When he is around children and cats he is relaxed respectful and tolerant. When he is interacting with them he is gentle well behaved playful and affectionate. When he is around dogs he can be tolerant but aloof and will not interact with other dogs after greeting them. He is an indoor dog who is house trained and has a low activity level. He is described as being confident excitable affectionate mellow independent and friendly. He can be aloof with other dogs on occassion.
Giovanni is not bothered when anyone places their hand by his food or takes his toys or treats away from him. He is also not bothered when he is pushed off of the furniture being held or restrained or disturbed from his sleep. He is not bothered when he is given a bath having his nails trimmed or having his fur brushed. He will become alert when a stranger approaches his family or home. He is also not bothered when he hears loud noises of any kind.
Giovanni is well behaved when he is left alone in the house or the backyard. He knows the commands sit and lay down. He likes to go for slow paced walks and will use the bathroom on cement or grass. He eats whole food dry food once a day and likes to snack on dental sticks. When he is in the house with his owner he will follow them around and stay in the same room with them. He likes to stay next to the bed in the main bedroom and will sleep anywhere in the house at night.
During the Intake process Giovanni was calm and well behaved. He allowed himself to be collared and photographed with minimal effort. He was friendly sniffing people he encoutered and allowing them to pet him as well. He allowed himself to be walked by various staff and did not display any negative behaviors.
