Medical Summary Negative MC Intact female BARH Advanced dental disease, very thick tartar, mouth painful–probably older than stated age Dog is occasionally in plantigrade stance on all four limbs; severely overgrown nails (no embedding), trimmed but will need multiple sessions to let quick recede; possible also deformity to front phalanges Breed associated derm issues (mostly along face) Negative fleas/earmites (activyl) Pyrantel given NOSF

A volunteer writes:
“She is very clam….She likes to just hang out and lay down…” The words of Ginger’s former master who relinquished her together with   friend Roscoe Dash  as the family had no time  and could not afford to care for  pets anymore. Ginger is a middle aged  mini-Sharpei definitively not in mint condition. She is really cute, though, with her velvety and wrinkled spongy face. One has to dig deep into her fur to find the  eyes…Her little sharp teeth nibble on tiny pieces of roastbeef I hold in my hand for her. Her feet are deformed. Her nails long, curved and aim in all directions making a walk an almost impossible and painful task….Free in a pen, she chooses a sunny spot and lays down. i really think she would love to spend the whole afternoon in the same position and enjoy the fresh air…She is a bit cranky after her tedious stroll but accepts my caresses. Ginger lived in harmony with children and another pooch. She is said to be a good girl who goes with the flow and very much housetrained. Ginger is at the Manhattan Care Center, waiting for the Sharpei lover who will give her the basic  and veterinary care she very much needs and of course, the love of a master.  Come and meet her soon..
