07/02/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Ghenga came in as a stray, so her past behaviors in a home are unknown. At intake Ghenga was alert, energetic and responsive to introduction she was also loose and wiggly, allowed all handling. During SAFER Ghenga came into the room loose and wiggly, social towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Ghenga was distracted but not fearful during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Ghenga freezes and growls on food item, toy item she settle close firm, loose and wiggly, and rawhide item she displayed minimal interest. Ghenga shows potential for possessive behavior over Food item, so the behavior department feels she can be suitable for an experience adopter with no children. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is wagging with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (need coaxing to approach.) She is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Her eyes are averted and her ears are relaxed. Licks hand. Food: 4. Dog freezes and growls. Toy: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. She does not place her body between you and the toy. Rawhide: 1. Minimal interest in rawhide, dog smells, then turns away. Dog-to-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Ghenga is loose and wiggly when greeting at the gate and solicits for play with play bows.
