A volunteer writes: “I said Georgia, oh Georgia / No peace I find (peace I find) / Just an old sweet song / Keeps Georgia on my mind (Georgia on my mind)…” Lyrics made famous by Ray Charles and Georgia is indeed on my mind…what a sweetheart! Already known by staff as a sweet snuggler, all she wanted to do when we first met was climb in my lap and cuddle. Easily leashed, the moment we stepped out she went potty so may be housetrained and then it’s off to snuggle we go. Her leash manners are lovely, she wags her tail as we walk, and is so adorable she attracted the attention of a woman on the street who wanted to meet her. Georgia was thrilled to make a new friend! Off leash in a pen I gave her a toy and it took her a few minutes to figure out this was all hers and how to play with it. Tossing it up in the air, shaking it around, a quick game of tug with me, and then more tossing and chasing – she had a blast and it was great to watch. Her motto is “play like no one is watching”! Settling down with her new toy, she rolled over for a belly rub, at peace, for the moment, with the world. In playgroup Georgia is social and playful, having fun in the company of other dogs. Beyond adorable, Georgia is looking for her new home in which cuddles, toys, nice walks will all be part of her happily ever after. Ask to meet her today and you’ll be singing your own song to Georgia.
