A volunteer writes: Genesis- the Beginning. And our Genesis needs a new beginning and a happily ever after, as she is was surrendered along with her bestie Juliet the cat (A1037141) due to a divorce. Genesis was my first walk of the day and spending time with this little peanut was the perfect set up. She’s shy and her tail was tucked, but she warmed up quickly and was soon wagging away and giving me kisses. We’re told that she’s always shy with strangers and children, needing time to warm up, that she loves other dogs (confirmed in playgroup in which she was social, greeted others, and is a “gentle and dainty” player), loves baths and getting brushed, loves belly rubs, is great with the cat who she jumps on to initiate play, is crate trained, knows ‘sit’ and ‘stay’ and loves to sleep cuddled up with her person at night. Genesis showed me her sit in exchange for a treat, taking it gently and then chomping on it like a little kid who hasn’t learned to eat with his mouth closed. The sounds, the visual…………..beyond cute! Genesis walks nicely on the leash, and off leash happily explored the pen coming back to me for hugs. Once she knew I was a friend (that took no time at all), I was the perfect snuggle partner as she happily gave me kisses. Genesis is an effervescent sweetheart of a little girl, so ready to spend the rest of her life loving her new family. Let’s give her what her name means………a beginning…of her happily ever after.
