The officers said they had no issues with the dog. He did attempt to hump my leg and the supervisors leg many times throughout the whole intake. He also did try biting through the leash but lightly and not aggresively. Took vac with no problem, also appears attentive to the environment.

A volunteer writes: Remember when Gatorade commercials told us ‘Life’s a sport, drink it up’? Well this cute little Gator seems to have taken that on as his personal motto — life is an adventure and he’s not about to spend it laying on the couch! Gator greets the world with a goofy grin, a wiggly butt and a whole lot of love and though his loving can get a bit too amorous at times, he’s never anything but friendly, soft and tail-waggingly happy to be hanging out with his person. Treats are welcomed and snarfled (never snapped) from my hand and when not giving out hugs, he thoroughly enjoys a good full-body massage and even offers up a few quick chin kisses of his own in return. Once on leash, Gator’s a responsive walker who takes care of all his business quickly and meets passing dogs with amiable good manners and an easy smile. There’s not a mean bone in his compact-yet-perfectly-
09/08/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Gator pulls hard on the leash. He was excited but very interested in interacting with handler during assessment – jumped up. He was excited during some of the handling items, but had soft body language. Gator was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. He was a bit difficult to push out of the food bowl, but had soft body language. Gator took the toy and the rawhide with a soft body language. He rushed in quickly during the dog-dog test, but showed no aggression. Gator showed a low threshold for what appears to be sexual arousal and consistently tried to mount the Assessor and Assistant before the assessment. Gator appears to be a high-energy dog that will likely do best with an adopter prepared to provide mental and physical stimulation and appropriate outlets for his energy. Gator is an active dog he need a significant amount of exercise and mental stimulation. The behavior department feels that he can go to an experienced home. We also recommend a home without children. Look: 3. Dog jumps on the Assessor, consistently rubs his shoulder on the Assessor, and will not allow Assessor to conduct the assessment. Sensitivity: 2. Dog displays high energy and movement, but it is directed toward getting closer to the Assessor. His body is soft, likely panting, may jump up between attempts to lick Assessor. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (may need coaxing to approach.) He is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Food: 2. Dog follows the dish with his tail down, body likely a bit stiff. Dog lifts head after a bit of pressure from hand to cheek. Toy: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place his body between you and the toy. Rawhide: 1.
