04/30/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
04/30/15 Gasket is an approximately 1 year old APBT mix. He was surrendered because his owner left him for over a month at a carshop. An employee of the carshop brought him in. He said that the owner left and did not come back. He is not responding to phone calls and he has not heard anything from the owner. The car shop is closed and he was taking care of gasket for the last month. The finder describes him as friendly, playful and gentle around strangers. He has been mostly kept in doors and is crate trained. He was walked twice a day and ate dry food. Gasket has a high activity level. During intake, Gasket had a loose body, wagging tail and open mouth. He took treats and allowed to have his picture taken. He also allowed petting, switching leashes, and collaring. He was given food and water and jumped up to greet us all.
05/02/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: This is what you can expect when you walk Gasket: ‘oh is he cute, can I pet him?’, ‘he’s adorable, he looks so friendly’, ‘love his wagging tail’ and more. A ‘gasket’ is a seal that unites two parts creating a strong bond and I can’t imagine a more appropriate name for this boy. He’s compact, a bit too thin, seems to be very housetrained, super friendly to other people and dogs, and although he pulls on the leash a bit is manageable and responsive. He sits when asked to, takes treats so gently with the edge of his teeth you won’t feel it, and is easy going and friendly. His eyes light up when I introduce a ball in the backyard, and I get a quick woof if I don’t throw it fast enough. Too cute! Leaping after it he brings it back for another throw, sometimes batting it around a bit for his own amusement. Gasket was left by his owner at a car shop and calls to the owner were never returned so Gasket is now with us. We’re told that for a month he was with a shop employee and he’s crate trained, friendly, playful and gentle with all people including strangers. After we played for a bit Gasket and I enjoyed some cuddle time; he gives kisses and hugs, and while he can get a little mouthy in his love there’s no pressure and he’s easily managed. Gasket is hoping to be the bond in your life and is waiting for the opportunity to show you how awesome he is. Easy going, active, friendly and a lover…..what more can anyone ask for? Meet him today.
