07/12/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
07/12/15 16:23 Gambit A1043750 is a young neutered male AMPBT Mix whom was found wandering the streets of the Bronx a week ago. The parent of the finder along with a friend came upon him and since he was so sweet and walked up to them they felt bad and brought him home. The finder and their family tried to find the owner when unsuccessful they tried to rehome them but weren’t able to. The finder wasn’t able to keep Gambit due to pet restrictions in their building. During the week they had Gambit they stated he didn’t have any accidents in the home, he was walked 2-3x a day and he pulls on the leash. He’s a very hyper, high energy “big baby who doesn’t know his own strength”. Gambit wasn’t around other animals or children during his stay with the finders. Gambit ate wet and dry Pedigree food and slept with the finder’s 19yr old child. During intake Gambit had a loose wiggly body. He allowed all handling. He allowed to be scanned (-), collared and to be taken pictures of. He solicited attention/affection from admissions staff and took treats gently from our hands.
07/15/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: If we were back in school, Gambit would win the prize for “Best Dressed” as he’s truly magnificent in his gleaming slate gray coat. His weight is perfect for his size, his nails are trimmed…he’s gorgeous. Likely housetrained he ‘went’ as soon as we were out the door, and while he pulls on the leash from time to time we had a pleasant walk to the park. Of course, Mr. Best Dressed received tons of compliments from passersby, and I, as his escort, conveyed his thanks. Posing for some photos, Gambit makes soft eye contact, doesn’t mind being tethered, and does that head tilt thing I just love. Both in the park and off leash in the backyard he ignores other dogs that were close, preferring to hang out with me and play fetch. He does a great retrieve, bringing the ball right back to me and dropping it at my feet. His eyes twinkle in anticipation of the next throw and he’s off to get it again. Alert and curious to everything going on around us, Gambit joins me on the bench for a quick snuggle before its off to explore again. Gambit poses like a super model for more pictures, and it seems like he’s accustomed to being photographed, again making soft eye contact and doing his head tilt thing when I make kissy noises at him. Gambit hasn’t let his award go to his head, and is simply looking for a new person or family to take care of. Come meet our fun, playful, boy today.
