11/11/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Franklin pulls a bit on the leash. He was calm and relaxed during handling and easily engages in play, body is loose and wiggly, mouth open. Franklin showed some concerning behavior during the toy test – stiffening and growling, but did not snap at or bite the assess-a-hand. Franklin may require positive reinforcement behavior modification to address his guarding concern. He appears to be a high-energy dog that will likely do best with an adopter prepared to provide mental and physical stimulation and appropriate outlets for his energy. The behavior department feels that he would do best if placed with an experience no child adopter who can follow up on this behavior. Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy: 4. Dog freezes and growls.
11/11/2015 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Franklin has shown some concerning behaviors toward other dogs while in the care center. When on leash he will pull hard toward other dogs; becoming aroused, growling and lunging. He is not easily distracted and will continue to bark and growl after the other dog is out of sight. He has not yet interacted with another dog off leash but due to the behaviors seen in the care center, the behavior department feels that Franklin should have these behaviors followed up on before being placed in a home with another dog.
