10/26/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
10/26/15 12:01 Profile wasn’t left due to animal being stray. Finders Observations: Fifty is friendly towards strangers. He has chased a few stray cats in the yard, as well as squirrels. Fifty has no preferance in food. He responds to the name Fifty (when the dog was found the finder was listening to the music of rapper 50 Cent). Behavior During Intake: Fifty was brought into the facility on a temp lead like leash by the finder. Upon arrival Fifty appeared to be afraid, his body was stiff, head low, and tail tucked. He moved slowly as he made his way through the entrance to the admissions office. I gave Fifty a treat and spoke to him in a calm soft spoken voice. After a few moment I spoke to him in my baby voice and chanted to him that he was a good boy. He slowly began to wag his tail and I followed by extending my hand. He sniffed it a few times and then rubbed into my leg. I began to chant more and he became less tense. Before you know it he was collared, scanned, and leashed. As I handed him to the ACO to be put in the kennel his head was high, tail raised, and seemed more curious about the enviorment.

10/27/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Fifty came to our center after a member of the public found him as a stray and held onto him a few days. Finder reports Fifty was friendly towards strangers but chased stray cats and squirrels in the yard. During intake, Fifty was nervous, head low, tail tucked, body fearful. After being spoken to gently he slowly warmed up, wagging tail and allowing handling. He was friendly and sweet during initial medical exam. Fifty entered SAFER assessment area cautiously, but warmed up quickly to assessor, leaning and soliciting attention. He allowed his head to be cupped in assessor’s hands, tail down and low wagging. Fifty stood still and accepted the touch during Sensitivity item, body cautious. He followed at the end of the leash for Tag game, body a bit low. Fifty did not pull his paw back on both Squeeze attempts, tail low wagging. He had no interest in Food or Rawhide, and minimal interest in Toy, appearing interested but unsure. Fifty approached the helper dog quickly, lip lick, tail at spine level, ears forward. The Behavior Team feels Fifty would do best with an Experienced adopter. He may benefit from a slow introduction where Fifty can approach at his own pace, warming up once he feels comfortable. Fifty may benefit initially from a calm, quiet, structured environment so he knows what to expect and can relax in his new home. Once comfortable, Fifty was affectionate and gentle towards assessor and assistant. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, body low. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, his tail is between his legs, body cautious, mouth closed. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body a bit low. Squeeze 1/2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are back, tail low wagging. Food: Inconclusive, dog is not eating. Toy: 1. Minimal interest in toy, appears interested, but unsure. Rawhide: 1. No interest. Dog-dog: 2. Dog approaches the helper dog, body soft, tail well above spine level, ears forward, lip lick.

10/29/2015 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
When off leash with other dogs, Fifty rushes in to greet a social female. He engages in overly exuberant play as well as offering multiple play bows. He takes well to corrections. 10/30 update Fifty continues to enter the yard very eager to play, he may become a bit vocal while soliciting and play bowing. 10/31 update Fifty continues to vocalize while engaging in bouncy, jumping play with a female dog. 11/4 update Fifty often engages in exuberant, boisterous, and often vocal play. He takes well when corrected for being pushy.
