03/29/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Fifi is an adorable little pixie with a big heart, full of life and love and apparently quite the cat fancier too! When her human moved into housing that didn’t welcome animals, Fifi and her kitty sister Mickey (A1031351) suddenly found themselves homeless and alone, a tough break for two obviously well cared for pets who’d been best buds for years. We’re told Fifi loves cats and gets along well with children but she’s not so keen on other dogs and during our time together she definitely made her dislike of certain pups loud and clear. Though some could pass by unremarked (and in the case of one yappy little dog, even bark right at her) others were quickly identified as unwelcome intruders and as per her former owners, Fifi will need to be adopted into a home where she’s the only doggie love of your life. Fifi’s a good leash walker who seems to be very house trained and she comes when called, sits politely on command and takes treats gently from my hand. Her people skills are fantastic and she’s always keen to make new friends, enjoying all the petting and praise I have to offer and even letting me pick her up like a baby when it’s time to return to her kennel! Sociable, cat-loving and apartment-sized, Fifi would make a wonderful pet for an experienced family looking to add some canine charisma to their pack. Fifi’s already spayed (as is her sister) and ready to leave immediately, please step up for her today!

03/28/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Fifi walks calmly on leash. She was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body, wagging tail. She was calm and relaxed during handling. Fifi engages in play, body is loose and wiggly, mouth open. She growled and bit the assess-a-hand during the food bowl and rawhide test and she was not interested in toy. Fifi was surrender to us. According to her previous owner she get along with children and strangers. The owner stated that she is friendly with the cat that he used to live with (Mickey A1031351) but she will growl and bark at other animals. The owner mentioned that she will be better in a home without other dogs”. was friendly and playful during the handling part of the assessment but during the resources she shows some guarding issues biting the assess-a-hand. The behavior department feels that she would do best if placed with a New Hope partner who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification before placement into a permanent home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Food 5. Dog tries to bite. Rawhide 1. No interest. Rawhide 5. Dog attempts to bite
