11/21/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Farishuys came in as a stray, so his past behaviors in a home are unknown. During SAFER Farishuys came in calm and relaxed, he was friendly and social towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Farishuys was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Farishuys was easy to handle when engaged with the items. Farishuys appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels he can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft, or low and a bit fearful. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2:1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy 1: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place his body between you and the toy.
