A volunteer writes:
Eddy makes himself all tiny in his doggy bed. Only part of his head emerges. I see two golden eyes and a big brown nose. I check the weight. Only 37lbs to extract … Indeed, as I open the kennel’s door, Eddy sinks even more… What a cutie! A baby…..My heart melts….Eddy is beautiful, plump, healthy looking. He was well cared for until he was brought to our Care Center as his master was going through a rough patch.Eddy is not eager to walk. He needs to be carried. In the backyard, put on the ground, he explores his surroundings a bit but he is shivering. Little by little, he becomes more assertive and comes back to what he knows can make him feel better: a human. Eddy comes between my legs and lets himself hauled on my lap. He stops shaking. He is just a needy puppy who gets all my maternal fibers in alert.Eddy is too adorable. He should improve with the care our volunteers and staff will give him but being again in a home, with an owner or family is really what Eddy needs. Love and being loved again. Eddy is at the Manhattan Care Center.
