11/21/15 14:57 Basic Information: Dutchess is a 4 year old altered female Pit-bul. Owner had Dutchess since she was three weeks old. Owner stated she has allergies and is allergic to green pea and pork. Owner surrenders Dutchess due to personal problems. Social Life and Personality: Dutchess lived with two adults and a two year old. Owner sated Dutchess is relaxed, respectful and tolerant towards everyone in the house. Dutchess been going to the dog park since she was a puppy and owner stated she gets along with big and small dogs. Dutchess also been around cats and is respectful of them. She’s mostly indoors and activity is low in the house and high outdoors. Owner describes Dutchess as excitable, affectionate, independent and friendly. Behavior: Dutchess has never bitten anyone owner stated. She allows owner to touch her food bowl while eating and take toys or treats away from her mouth owner stated. She likes to take baths and have nail trim at the vet. Owner stated Dutchess howls when an unfamiliar person comes to the house. For a New Family to Know: Ducthess is trained to use the bathroom outdoors on leash twice a day. She knows commands such as sit, lay down and give paw. Dutchess not interested in toys unless it’s a rope or bone. Ducthess use to be crate trained but doesn’t need it now. In the house she rarely seeks attention and well behaved when home alone. Dutchess eats dry food called Natural Balance. Intake Behavior: Upon intake Dutchess was loose body, whining and anxious. She scanned positive for a microchip and allowed all handling.

11/25/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE

Dutchess came to us as an owner surrender on 11/21/15. It was reported by the owner that Dutchess lived with two adults and a two year old. Owner sated Dutchess is relaxed, respectful and tolerant towards everyone in the house. She has been going to the dog park since she was a puppy and owner stated she gets along with big and small dogs. She was very interested in interacting with that assessor when entering the behavior room with loose body language. She allowed the assessor to conduct all tactile assessment items while maintaining soft body language. She proved easy to handle when chewing on the toy item. The behavior department believes that Dutchess can go to an average home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is closed for a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Dog may lick hand. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Dog may lick hand. Toy 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. She does not place her body between you and the toy. Dog-Dog: Dutchess greets with an extremely wiggly body. She is a enthusiastic player and engages in body slam and bouncy play.
11/22/2015 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION

Dutchess is social and engages in play with both males and females. She is tolerant of pushy behavior. Based on her behavior during playgroup, the Behavior Department recommends that Dutchess can go to a home with both male and female dogs. She seems to do well with playful dogs so we recommend she be placed with other energetic, playful dogs. ***Social group greeter dog.*** Dutchess greets with an extremely wiggly body. She is a enthusiastic player and engages in body slam and bouncy play. 11/23 update: Dutchess engages in rough and rambuncious play and takes appropriate breaks in play. 11/24 update: Dutchess greets politely and will attempt to solicit play. She engages in rough, bouncy play with other playful dogs. 11/25 update: Dutchess greets politely and engages in running play with both males and females. She can be a bit assertive and may attempt to mount some dogs. 11/27 update: Dutchess attempts to solicit play and engages in rough play with a playful male. She is tolerant of pushy behavior.
