A volunteer writes: Dumpling is a bit of a misnomer for this little guy, as he is anything but at this time. Joining us with his friend Egg Roll (1049302), both are emaciated and being fed an extra meal daily to help them gain some weight. Dumpling sits perfectly still in his kennel, wagging his tail as I unlatch his door. He’s an adorable puppy who should be smiling and playful without a care in the world. Hopefully he will find that world, and at the moment he’s happy to be fed regularly, snuggle on a person’s lap and get the opportunity to play with other dogs. In his first group he was tolerant with others and a bit shy. He’s a bit shy with people too, understandable as he’s not had the best experiences with our species it seems. Certainly he wasn’t fed. He takes treats gently which is amazing given how hungry he is, but searches my bag for more. He waits politely in a ‘sit’ for them and breaks my heart with how good he is. Shyly but happily snuggling in my lap he reaches up to give me kisses. Calm, sweet, gentle and in need of a home where plentiful nutritious food will help him gain weight, and love is everywhere, Dumpling is hoping you’ll stop by his kennel and meet him today.
