05/29/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Draper D walks calmly on leash. He was stiff and did not show social behavior during the assessment. He was uncomfortable with handling; he stands tall, sometimes on his tiptoes, and tries to look large. His hair was standing up along his back. He makes direct eye contact. He wrinkles his muzzle to expose his front teeth. We decided to skip the handling part of the assessment for safety reasons. During the resources Draper D growled and bit the assess-a-hand during the food bowl test and was not interested in toys or rawhide. The behavior department feels that he would do best if placed with a New Hope partner who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification before placement into a permanent home. Look: 5. Dog freezes Food: 5. Dog tries to bite. Toy: 1. No interest. Rawhide: 1. No interest. When off leash with other dogs Draper D may attempt to mount but responds well to correction. He will also correct when mounted.
